Ready for Development (RfD) is a Cameroonian non-profit organization established in 2023, committed to empowering people and communities through skills development, leadership, access to opportunities, partnerships and community-driven initiatives.

We believe that every person has the potential to contribute to development when given the right knowledge, skills, opportunities and support.

RfD works with young people, professionals, communities, institutions and development partners to address barriers to opportunity and promote inclusive and sustainable development..

Our Journey

Ready for Development (RfD) was established in September 2023 with a simple but ambitious belief: people and communities can achieve more when they have access to the right knowledge, skills, opportunities, networks and support.

What began as an initiative focused on empowering people and supporting community development has progressively evolved into a growing platform for capacity building, youth empowerment, civic engagement, professional development, community action and strategic partnerships.

In 2023, the foundation focused on establishing the organization's identity, governance structures, partnerships and programme direction..

In 2024, RfD began expanding its engagement with young people, professionals, and communities through learning opportunities, community initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities. The focus was on creating spaces where people could learn, connect, exchange ideas, and develop practical skills...

In 2025, RfD strengthened its programme activities and expanded its engagement through capacity-building initiatives, leadership and development events, community outreach, professional learning, and partnerships. The organization also increased collaboration with other civil society and development actors, recognizing that partnerships are essential to achieving sustainable impact.

In 2026, In 2026, RfD entered a new phase focused on institutional strengthening, strategic partnerships, digital transformation and greater impact.

As we move forward, we aim to move from individual activities to stronger, evidence-based programmes that can be sustained, replicated, and scaled. We aim to deepen our presence in communities, strengthen institutional partnerships, mobilize greater resources, and expand access to opportunities for young people and underserved communities.
