From an Idea to a Growing Platform for Development
Ready for Development (RfD) was founded in September 2023 from a simple but powerful conviction: sustainable development begins with people who are empowered, equipped, and ready to take action.
From the beginning, RfD set out to create a platform that connects people with knowledge, skills, opportunities and partnerships while encouraging active participation in community development.
What started as an emerging organization has gradually evolved into a growing development platform working across skills development, community engagement, economic and social empowerment, leadership, civic participation, and digital transformation.
2023 - The Beginning
RfD was established in September 2023 with the ambition of contributing to inclusive and sustainable development by investing in people and communities
The early phase focused on laying the foundations of the organization, developing its identity, building its network and identifying areas where RfD could make a meaningful contribution
From the outset, we recognized that development challenges are interconnected. Skills, employment, education, community participation and access to opportunities all influence people's ability to build better lives.
2024 - Building the Foundation
As RfD consolidated its operations, the organization began developing activities aimed at learning, empowerment and community engagement
Training activities, awareness initiatives, community-focused actions and opportunities for knowledge exchange became important elements of our work
This period helped RfD establish its approach: bringing people together, creating learning opportunities and turning knowledge into action.
2025 - Expanding Our Reach
In 2025, RfD continued to expand its activities and partnerships while increasing its focus on leadership, skills development, community service and social empowerment.
2026 - Skills, Digital Transformation & Global Opportunities
In 2026, RfD began placing greater emphasis on the changing world of work and the opportunities created by digital technology, artificial intelligence, and global connectivity.
Our programmes increasingly explore how young people and professionals can develop relevant skills, strengthen their employability and access opportunities beyond traditional geographical boundaries.
Where We Are Today
Today, RfD is a growing organization committed to building a stronger platform for people, learning, opportunity and community development.
We are also committed to strengthening our systems for monitoring, evaluation, learning, and accountability so that our growth is accompanied by measurable and sustainable impact.
